What we Offer

Crescent Park is a private, non-profit preschool that welcomes children age 24 months to 6 years. We are a year-round program that follows the PAUSD Calendar, with two weeks off in the summer and winter. Children are enrolled with a schedule of two, three, or five half or full-days.

Preschool

Designed for children age 2 to 5 years. Scheduling options include two, three, or four half or full-days per week.

Our Preschool program offers an atmosphere of exploration and wonder, coupled by rich social opportunities discovered through play.  In partnership with children and parents, we work to promote an emergent curriculum which develops and enhances the child’s competence, identity and acceptance of others. Children are provided with rich materials and a wide variety of thoughtful experiences to explore their world in a predictable and orderly setting.  The Reggio Emilia approach teaches us that children have a “hundred languages” for expressing their ideas, and supports collaborative learning experiences in small groups which provide a deeper, more meaningful time to explore and understand their ideas and relationships.

PreK

A small group experience that begins early January or February each year, designed to build upon the older child’s more complex interests as they prepare for transition into Kindergarten.

Crescent Park provides an excellent foundation for entry into Palo Alto/Menlo Park and surrounding community kindergartens.  Our preschool curriculum summary and developmental milestones provide an overview of the skills developed in the preschool years and has been adapted to complement and reflect the Palo Alto Unified Kindergarten curriculum as developmentally appropriate in the preschool setting.

Toddler Studio

This specialized program is designed for young children without previous school experience.

This small-group experience has a maximum of 8 children with 2 teachers.

The Toddler Studio has it’s own outdoor classroom, designed specifically for the youngest members of our community. The Toddler & Family Learning Studio offers a beautiful and natural environment, filled with unique materials geared specifically for the younger members of our community. Invitations for relationships and learning are imbedded in our carefully planned environment. Drawing on research in brain development, children will be offered experiences to use flexible thinking and problem solving while building relationships with other children and adults.

Children in the Toddler Studio also have the opportunity to make occasional visits to the larger preschool space to become acclimated with their future classrooms. Graduation from the Toddler Studio guarantees admission to the preschool the following academic year.
